A Master of Science in Accounting degree sets its holders apart, providing a distinction that is important for top tier accounting positions. Earning this graduate degree also provides the additional hours to meet the 150 hours required to sit for the CPA Exam in Louisiana. The curriculum provides advanced preparation for careers in public accounting, industry, government, and consulting.
For some students, starting the program in the Fall semester is the best option due to the timing of course offerings. However, the program is flexible to allow Spring and Summer entrants on either a full or part-time basis. Many courses are also offered in the evening, allowing students to work while completing the program.
The M.S. in Accounting degree program consists of 30 hours and is designed to be completed in approximately one year by a full-time student. There may be an increase in hours required depending upon the undergraduate accounting courses you previously completed. There is no thesis requirement.
